Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Plain-English terms for website setup, hosting, monitoring, updates, optional add-ons, and ongoing service from First Line Websites.

Last updated: July 2026

These terms are written in plain language to explain the standard First Line Websites service, including website setup, hosting, monitoring, updates, optional add-ons, ownership, and cancellation.

Services

First Line Websites provides practical business websites built to show what a business offers and help visitors take the next step. Services may include website planning, design, development, hosting, monitoring, updates, domain setup assistance, contact forms, search-friendly page structure, and related support.

Unless a service, feature, deliverable, or timeline is specifically listed as included, it is not included by default.

Free Initial Setup

The standard First Line Websites setup offer includes zero upfront design or development fees for an eligible website build. This free setup offer is intended for standard informational business websites and excludes e-commerce stores, membership portals, customer account systems, advanced database or listing sites, complex web applications, and other custom software functionality.

Agency and Reseller Use

The free initial setup offer is available only to the business or organization that will use the website. Agencies, marketing companies, web designers, developers, consultants, or other third parties may not use the free setup offer to obtain website work for their own clients.

First Line Websites is open to agency, subcontract, or partner work under a separate written agreement with separate pricing and scope.

Monthly Service

The base monthly service is $95/month unless a different amount is stated in writing. The monthly service includes hosting, monitoring, SSL security, and managed webmaster support. Managed webmaster support includes 2 hours of time to use every month for text updates, photo changes, and new pages. Unused time does not accumulate or roll over.

If the monthly service is canceled or payment fails, hosting, monitoring, support updates, and live website availability may be paused or terminated.

Payment Authorization

Payment information is collected securely through Stripe. For the standard setup flow, a card may be saved before work begins, and the first monthly website fee is charged only after the website is built and launched live.

Client Materials and Review

The client is responsible for providing accurate business information, text, photos, logos, domain access, account access, and other materials needed to complete the website. Launch timelines depend on receiving the needed materials and timely feedback.

The client is responsible for reviewing the website before launch and confirming that business details, contact information, pricing, claims, images, spelling, and other content are accurate.

Review and Revisions

The free initial setup includes an initial website build and up to two rounds of reasonable revisions before launch. If the website is not approved after the included review rounds, either side may choose not to move forward before the monthly service begins.

Additional revisions, extended design changes, new requests, or ongoing fine-tuning beyond the included review rounds may require the monthly service to begin or may be billed separately at an agreed client rate.

Optional Add-Ons

During onboarding, if the client needs help with logo design, business card design, photography if local, custom email, or other setup details, those services are available separately at affordable client rates. Later, as the client's business grows, the website can also expand with things like blog setup, extra pages, email marketing, or other website improvements.

AI-Assisted Work

First Line Websites may use AI-assisted tools for planning, drafting, coding, editing, content organization, troubleshooting, and quality review. This helps reduce cost and move quickly. AI-assisted work is reviewed and directed by a person, and clients remain responsible for reviewing business-specific facts, claims, and final content.

Ownership and Access

The client owns their business name, branding, domain name, and submitted content. First Line Websites provides and maintains the website code, hosting, monitoring, and technical service as part of the monthly plan.

Website source code, build files, repository access, hosting configuration, deployment infrastructure, and implementation files remain under the control of First Line Websites and are not provided to the client as part of the monthly service or upon cancellation.

Upon request, First Line Websites may provide PDF copies or screenshots of public website pages for accounts in good standing.

Third-Party Services

Websites may connect to third-party services such as Stripe, Cloudflare, form processors, email platforms, maps, booking tools, analytics, or content management tools. Third-party services are governed by their own terms, pricing, availability, and privacy practices.

Limited Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, First Line Websites is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages, including lost revenue, lost leads, lost rankings, business interruption, data loss, third-party service outages, or issues caused by inaccurate client-provided information.

The total liability of First Line Websites for any claim related to services is limited to the amount paid by the client to First Line Websites for the affected service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

No Guaranteed Results

First Line Websites works to create fast, clear, professional websites with strong foundations. However, no specific search ranking, traffic level, lead volume, revenue amount, or business outcome is guaranteed.
